Savvy couponing equals big savings

Here are summaries of coupon policies for three major local grocery sellers:

Kroger/Scott's

♦Customer loyalty card offers price discounts on many items. Coupons also offered on www.kroger.com, mailed to loyalty card customers and downloadable to loyalty card from www.cellfire.com.

♦In the Fort Wayne market, manufacturers' coupons of 50 cents or less are tripled in value. Coupons of more than 50 cents off are accepted at face value. No matching of other retailers' advertised prices.

♦For every 100 fuel points earned per month, a discount of 10 cents per gallon is offered at Kroger fuel centers and particpating Shell stations. You can accumulate enough points to receive up to $1 off per gallon at Kroger fuel centers. Earn 100 fuel points by spending $100 while shopping at Kroger, by filling two presciptions or by buying $50 in gift cards for Kroger, restaurants or other businesses.
